Tom's Books
Meet Tom, the Author
As a therapist, educator, and dedicated advocate of the transformative power of yoga, I infuse each of my books with insights gained from my work in mental health, personal growth, and mindful movement. My first book, Full Heart Living, explores how we can cultivate joy, resilience, and connection, offering readers practical steps to deepen their emotional and mental well-being. Now, with the upcoming release of my second book, I’m excited to continue this journey, weaving together my passions for self-compassion, inner strength, and mindful living. Each book is crafted to support you on your path to a more intentional, vibrant life, guided by the principles I bring to my work every day.
Full Heart Living
With its unique combination of storytelling, interviews, memoir, and activities, Full Heart Living: Conversations with the Happiest People I Know is as fun and engaging as it is relatable and practical. Beyond happiness, this book reveals how to live, with with your arms outstretched and your heart wide open. Each chapter concludes with a summary of key points and optional activities that bring the concepts immediately to life.
As intimate as sitting down to coffee with your best friend and as instructional as attending your favorite class, Full Heart Living is a profound reflection on how to live fully with joy and meaning,
The House That Resilience Built
The day it was released, The House That Resilience Built: A Psychologist’s Approach to Healing Childhood Trauma became a #1 New Release in Popular Psychology Psychotherapy and Medical Psychology Pathologies, and an instant Amazon bestseller in Post-Traumatic Stress. It explores how holistic, person-centered psychotherapy uncovers and instills trauma survivors’ innate resilience. Here I distill what I’ve learned, not only as a trauma survivor myself, stumbling onto physical, mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual practices, but also in my 40 years of working with trauma survivors in psychotherapy. As I examined what has worked for my clients and myself, seven synergistic “Building Blocks” emerged, all creating a profound healing connection. From whole-hearted listening to helping survivors find their voice, these seven building blocks propel survivors into a new realm, one of liberation and resilience.
I hope my readers use some of what my clients and I have discovered to deepen their understanding of trauma and resilience. I hope readers are inspired to find a good therapist themselves if they need one. If you love someone who is a trauma survivor, I hope this book helps you attune and attend to them.
